Tygra repaint (Thundercats Ultimates) Custom Action Figure

Here is a quick repaint I did for a collector friend of mine. For some reason Super7 decided to paint super reddish the regular figure of Tygra, in a hardly explanable movement. They also overlooked the small shoulder pad, and painted in a off, murky blue his mid torso, with sort of "smokeish" shadowings. Anyway, I customized to the rescue and repaint orange and blue, as it should have been.

Panthro Origins (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

 And here is Panthro Origins, done with a Skeletor. I was given all the parts, so it was rather straight forward, save for the sanding, which was rather complex. Matching greys can also be a daunting task, as no matter you get it right, once it dries it becomes usually darker, so you have to calculate very exactly the right tone, so the body matched the head.

Jackalman Origins (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

 Another Thundercats Origins, this time rather easy, Jackalman over a Beastman body. Matching the right colour was the most complicated part! He-Man head is also a custom repaint, which I thought of displaying in a imaginative gory fashion :) .

Vultureman Origins (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

 And it's the turn for Vultureman. A bit more work here, this time I made his fur overcoat with flexible rubber silicone compound, so it can move and be articulated. Foam for the skirt.

The head I believe comes from some bobblehead, as Vultureman didn't have any savage world figure release.

Monkian (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

 Here is Monkian, in Origins style, using Savage World parts, to make a superarticulated version. I also made with rubber compound his fur on his back.

Tygra Origins (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

 As it could not be missing, here is Tygra Origins to further complete the set of my Origins Thundercats customs :) . Using the head of the weird Bandai 8" figure. I used parts from here and there and voilà, Thundercats Origins Tygra.

Snowmeow Thundercats Ultimates (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

After my landmark custom, the rest can keep rolling out! this is Snowmeow, the faithful steed of Snowman, in style of the new Ultimates line. Was asked to do this with a Battle Cat Revelations, which by it's size makes a very good base figure, the cat is simply huge! The challenge here was in thoroughly painting it avoiding paint rub. Being a bright green, covering it with full white, is just about the most nightmaresque thing for a customizer! I was sanding and cutting for ages, and then decided to airbrush it, so the fine layers of paint gripped as well as possible. Used molten plastic and foam for the various details.

Jaga Origins (Thundercats) Custom Action Figure

Here is Jaga, in Origins form. Using parts of the Ultimates figure, using a He-Man figure, sculpting the different details. The base body was left unpainted, and this gives a very nice toy feeling to it.

Rataro Thundercats Origins Custom Figure MOTU Ratar-O LJN Mumm-ra mutant evil villain action

One of my first "Origins" customs :) , Ratar-O! following the style of the new MOTU line (sad that Thundercats only gets an absurd cartoon like Roar, and MOTU two full cartoons!).

Anyway, even if it doesn't look like it, there is a Beastman Origins under all that sculpting :) . It was a complicated custom, but I managed to pull it off in quite good time.

Brutemans Thundercats LJN Original Cartoon Custom Action Figure

Was asked to do a Bruteman, and I offered to do casts as well, as a Bruteman alone is something rather poor. The client agreed so I made moulds and did 3 for him, one I posted before and here are the other two.

I plan to do another for my collection now I have the moulds, maybe in a more striking colour.
