 And here is a custom of a custom, really. I bought this among others, but it was very plainly made, just about a recombination of parts and had many shortcomings. Hence I fixed all it's articulation problems, and gave it a full repaint from it's tacky past, and now looks quite amazing in my opinion! basically as he appeared on Broly's second OVA.

Celestial Dragon God Goku Dragon Ball Absalon custom figure

This is the Dragon God Goku Celestial, as he appears on fanmade Dragon Ball Absalon! Dragon Ball Absalon is a fanmade spin off of Dragon Ball, made on animated YouTube short episodes, check it out as is quite cool ;) , far better than official Super. Anyway, I based on a videogame render to do this version, made over an official Gogeta SH Figuarts. Most complicated aspect was to sculpt the hair and paint it, as well as the various intricate mystical layers of skirts he wears.

Evo Cell Dragon Ball Heroes Custom Figure SH Figuarts

This time I present this custom, a personal one, for my personal collection and a sort of personal concept too.

Inspired by the Dragon Ball Heroes videogames/manga/series, I liked the idea of a purple cell, and so, using a cheap bootleg of Cell Figuarts, I've made this figure. In my action figure universe, he is version of Cell of an alternate timeline, more evolved and refined by Dr. Gero.

I sculpted his head from scratch, scarf, and repainted all. I show the image where I drawed the inspiration. Hope you enjoy looking.

Ohzaru Celestial Super Saiyan God Blue Dragon Ball Super Custom Figure

Behold! here comes the enormous, giant, ape of the apes, the sacred one! so amazing, he has not appeared yet in the Dragon Ball Super series!

This custom has a loooooooooooooong history. Yes. It started as a random hulk arriving to my hands, 8 years ago. It was quite fast, and I knew it, I had to transform into the Dragon Ball Oohzaru, the great ape. But it also came to my mind, I will be spending tons and tons of epoxy/sculpting material, at that time I was short of cash as to throw it away in such a project. And so it occurred to me; all the spare epoxy I mixed, instead of letting it dry, contaminating, or extending the customizing time forever with new projects, I would add all that to make the fur of our monkey friend. All the surplus epoxy mixed, went into him. Bit by bit the smooth Hulk skin became covered with epoxy, rock solid fur. You can see the WIP pic; there is 5 different epoxy types, all the ones I have used up to date.

Of course, it came to an end; this year no more fur was needed, and so I started properly sculpting the head, and making a tail out of thermoplastic. I have applied layers and layers of different blues to get a realistic appearance, to highlight everything, a bit in the SH Figuarts style.

But then it came to me, it was boring to make just a regular brown Ohzaruu. Golden? maybe, but not special enough. And so, even if I don't specially like all this Super Saiyan God idea of Dragon Ball Super (nor the series, to be honest), the idea seemed ultra cool to me.

And so here it is. My longest time-spanning custom definitely. But I could hardly be prouder of the result. I will now have to start a similar project for all my surplus sculpting epoxy!!!

Xeno Vegeta Dragon Ball Xenoverse Custom Figure SH Figuarts Bandai style

This is Xeno Vegeta, new character from the Dragon Ball Heroes videogame, customized from a bootleg SH Figuarts Vegeta. Sculpted MASK, tubes and extra armour.

Metal Cooler Dragon Ball Z Custom 500th custom SH Figuarts クウラ

It has take its time, but here it is, my 500th custom! I (of course) wanted to do something special for such a landmark in a customizer's career, and it took a long time for me to decide what could be that something so special. The opportunity appeared as a chroming powder I bought months ago and arrived just in time. Now I was sure; it would be a chromey custom that will be ultra-durable and ultra-poseable!

After -again- looking at various characters, I decided for Metal Cooler (bad luck for Silver Sable), the movie villain of Dragon Ball Z and brother of Freezer, in the metal form he returned with in the OVA "The Return of Coola". The base figure was Toyman DCUC (I think, there wasn't much left of him when I started) as it is slimer than a regular DCUC (which is my standard for normal superhero-villain). The hands were took from a Myth Cloth figure. One of the important parts of the custom (and surely, the most difficult) was making a tail. I didn't know what to use, as I didn't know of any that suited the purpose, and in the end I used a ball joint from Punisher and the made a solid one, so it has a good deal of movement and still looks good when posing.

I had to sculpt nearly all the surface of the figure, and of course, I made the head from zero too. The shoulder pad have a mechanism so it doesn't bother him for the movement.

For the chroming, I first applied a black coat of gloss Tamiya, then the chroming powder, gloss varnish, then Tamiya clear blue + green, then more chroming powder, and then more varnish. It is a bit darker than the original, but it gives a very nice gloss metal finish.

Dabura ダーブラ Darbura Dabra Dabla Dragon Ball Z Custom

Here is Dabura, King of Demons, that appears in the Buu saga in Dragon Ball Z. He fought Son Gohan to a standstill, and he was in the end defeated by Majin Buu. The more difficult thing of this custom was sculpting his anime head from zero, and getting a good resemblance. I used a Batman cloak and a Spawn sword modified and combined with a cheap sword. The belt was made with a rubber ring and is not glued to the body, so he can move his waist without breaking or having to cut the round belt.


One of the problems that I encountered doing Dabura, was the shoulders, as if I made it of solid magic sculpt it would have blocked completely the articulation, and I hadn't any similar rubber piece (it would have blocked partly the articulation all the same), so I used a blue cloth (it was quite similar to the Game Colour Blue I used, surprisingly), cut and glued to represent his weird outfit and enabling him a good range of articulation.

As it can be seen in the last pic, I sculpted boots, part of the trousers, and torso.
