Super Adaptoid 12 inch (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure

Behold the might of the modern Super Adaptoid! I was asked to do him, in 8 or 9 inches, but found easier to make him in 12, and so here it is. I followed Jinsaotome's version, with some inspiration of the Avengers cartoon. I used a large Titan series captain america shield, and a Halo 12 inch figure, which was already green and so very suitable. Wings are made of plastic bottles cutted out. The star in the middle is, believe it or not, a true 925 sterling silver earring! the Absorbing Man - Dazzle Power glow in the dark 12 inch - custom 900th! Custom Figure

Here it is! at long last! after much work and efforts, I have mastered the glow in the dark paint in convincing manner! such a feat had to be celebrated, and I decided to make it my custom 900th. At first, many years ago, I thought of doing this custom standard, but I later saw how cool it would be to have it glow in the dark. But I couldn't manage to find a suitable fine, transparent and strong glow in the dark paint, so it got shelved for years on end. But I managed to acquire some 40 year old pot of paint which did the trick! Based on the iconic, even if obscure issue of the Dazzler, where Absorbing Man absorbs Dazzler's mutant augmented ray, and hence he becomes a giant, fuelled by Reed Richards amplifier of Dazzler's power, in form of a tape player. Such extravaganza of science fiction had to be celebrated with a fitting custom figure. Rey Mysterio's Maximum Aggression 12 inches figure looked a unusable figure for any good purpose, but after reading this comic I knew what to do. Not many giants wear long wide jeans! I sculpted it profusely to get the best likeness, made a watch as extra, took chain from a spawn figure, ball from a ping pong ball, tape player made in molten plastic, and painted in fine colour degradations to match the comic's look (inside the pages he is depicted fully green, hence it was perfect the glow in the dark effect). I dedicate this custom to my cousin which sadly passed away last week. May he rest in heaven. Hope you like it, and see you in the custom 1000th ;).

Whirlwind Avengers Marvel Legends custom

Here is Whirlwind, based as he appears in the Avengers cartoon. I tried to paint with Tamiya Clear to get a glossy effect although I'am not 100 % happy with the result. Base figure is Doc Ock with lots of sculpting.

Immortus Marvel Legends custom

I've been thinking to do this character for a while, but never found before a good reference pic to make him. Following a fanart I found googling, I made him over a Dr.Midnite with a LOTR head. I was expecting to photograph this custom with my new camera, but for my surprise it resulted worse at taking pics of close-up things like action figures than my old one, so I will have to return this Lumix FS 10 for a better quality one!

Chemistro Avengers Marvel Legends

Here is Chemistro, as he appears in the new Avengers cartoon. It was a character I totally didn't care before, but the rendition of the new cartoon as in 99 % of the occasions is imho amazing.

Base figure is a Captain Marvel with a random missile thrower that looks quite as his weapon in the show.

Living Laser Avengers Cartoon Marvel Legends custom

Here is the Living Laser, as he appears in the new Avengers cartoon. I just love this depiction of him, of what before was a quite corny character, now seems a formidable enemy for the Avengers. I used a Abin Sur, sculpted the head and the hands, and all the rest is painting.

Pagan Marvel Legends Custom

Here is Pagan, a late 90s enemy of the Avengers which was powerful enough to battle them all at once. A really cool character in design and name, which I decided to bring him into plastic life using;

Anthro V2 Marvel Legends custom

Here is my definitive version of Anthro, now with shoulder pads, more sculpting, and basically a intricate paint application. Anthro was a member of the Death-Web clan and attacked the West Coast Avengers.

My custom 400th - Kang's Throne Room with Princess Ravonna

This is the custom I've made to celebrate my 400th custom. It is a diorama of Kang's Throne Room and a custom of Princess Ravonna, as seen in the new Avengers cartoon. A lot of hard work went into this, specially tricky was to paint and glue Ravonna's transparent cloak and skirt.
